Mayor Doug Svien showing signs of improvement, but remains hospitalized.

Stephenville Mayor Doug Svien is in ICU at Texas Health Fort Worth following a medical emergency at his home about 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
The family has asked that details about his medical condition remain private.
“Mayor Svien is stable and is able to sit up and talk with his family,” Stephenville City Manager Jason King told Beneath the Surface News.
Mayor Pro Tem David Baskett is serving as interim mayor until Svien is well enough to return to office.
“We are keeping the mayor and his family in our prayers,” Baskett said. “I am going to sit in his chair and keep it warm until he is ready to come back.”
