Knights pledge proceeds from Friday’s Lenten fish fry to fire victims; first responders eat free.

Looking for a way to help victims of the wildfires that have plagued the area?

Look no further.

The Knights of Columbus is pledging its proceeds from Friday’s Lenten fish fry to area fire victims.

“As a member of the community and a Knight, I can proudly say that when our community or neighbors are in need, we all come together as one, just as Christ taught us,” Grand Knight Karmichael Ramos told Beneath the Surface News.

All first responders and firefighters will also eat for free on Friday.

“All they have to do is show up and tell them at the door,” Karmichael said. “They don’t have to be in uniform.”

The fish fry will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Newman Hall every Friday through April 8.

Dinner includes fried fish, coleslaw, hush puppies, French fries and tea for $15.

Dine-in and takeout are available.
