If you haven’t signed the petition to legalize alcohol sales, you can do it at these locations.
The deadline to submit the 4,400 signatures on a petition legalizing the sale of liquor and mixed drinks in Erath County is only two weeks away.
Several local business leaders are working to get the measure on the ballot in November.
John Hatch, a consultant with Texas Petition Strategies of Austin, has been hired to lead the petition drive and campaign.
If the measure passes, it would end the need for private club permits and could generate as much as $10 million a year in additional sales, 100 new jobs and $200,000 in local sales tax revenue.
If enough signatures for the petition are gathered by the June 4 deadline, Erath County commissioners will be required to order the election for Nov. 2.
Only registered voters can sign the petition.
The petitions can be found at Azteca, Hearsay Wine Bar, Bull Nettle, Greer’s Ranch Café, Jasper’s Café and The Purple Goat.
