Hunter Corbell is Erath County’s latest ‘hometown hero.’

Hunter Corbell, Carlene Sutton and Leslie Walker.

Hunter Corbell has only been an Erath County firefighter for one year, but his impact was enough to earn him the title of November’s “hometown hero,” sponsored by Leslie Walker Farmers Agency.

Hunter grew up in Stephenville and graduated from White Horse Christian Academy and Ranger College.

“I like Stephenville’s small town vibe,” he said. “Even though it’s growing, the community still comes together when people are in need.”

And when it comes to fighting fires? Well, it’s that brotherhood he enjoys most.

“I also enjoy the adrenaline rush I get with the job, but mostly I enjoy helping others,” he said.

When he’s not fighting fires, Hunter enjoys hunting and playing golf.

Along with the honor, Hunter received a certificate of appreciation, gift basket, local gift cards and cookies provided by Triple G Café.

Erath County’s monthly Hometown Hero Award is sponsored by Leslie Walker, Beneath the Surface News, the Stephenville Downtown Merchants and Green Door Juice Co.
