Holiday favorites: My dad loved Silver Oak wine and now you can buy a bottle at Hearsay Wine Bar.
My late father taught me to appreciate good wine.
He loved reds – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – and when he discovered Silver Oak, it became his all-time favorite.
Every year he and my mom would buy two bottles for Christmas Eve. We would share those bottles over a beautifully set dining room table and prime rib dinner.
After he passed, I kept that tradition going and when our now-grown children began taking an interest in wine, we introduced them to Silver Oak.
Today, the taste of its Cabernet Sauvignon reminds them of Christmas as much as a pan of fudge.
And Silver Oak has never been available locally until now.
Hearsay Wine Bar has added the label to its extensive wine list and you can purchase a bottle of 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon for $130.
I stopped by yesterday and bought two in honor of my dad.
My family will enjoy them when we are all together next weekend.
OTHER HIGH-END WINES AND CHAMPAGNE
Hearsay’s selection of high-end wines and champagne is outstanding this time of year and will make your holidays a little brighter.
Caymus remains one of the wine bars top-sellers and a bottle of its Cabernet Sauvignon sells for $150.
“Caymus is hard for us to keep in stock because it’s so popular, but we do have a few extra bottles for the holidays,” Lisa Pendleton, owner of Hearsay, told Beneath the Surface News.
Lisa’s favorite label is Cakebread (I love it too!) and Hearsay carries its Merlot ($108), Cabernet (132) and Chardonnay ($115).
“They are all very good,” she said.
You will also want to try a bottle of Simi Landslide Cabernet Sauvignon for $85.
And for those who celebrate with a glass of bubbles, Hearsay has that too.
A bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne sells for $115 or you can try a bottle of my friends James and Tracie Thurman’s favorite, J Cuvee, for $65.
If you want one of these beautiful bottles for your holiday celebrations, call or text 817-715-1682.
Cheers!
