Former youth pastor under investigation for allegedly sending lewd messages to teen.

A former Bluff Dale resident is under investigation for allegedly sending lascivious messages to a 13-year-old girl.

Ryan Ivy was a youth pastor at Bluff Dale Baptist Church and employee of Bluff Dale ISD when he allegedly sent the inappropriate messages to the middle school student.

Erath County Sheriff Matt Coates declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, but told Beneath the Surface News that it started after his office was contacted by a parent.

Sources say officials at the school and church learned about the situation in July.

Ivy has since resigned and has reportedly left Bluff Dale with his family.

A source who first contacted BTS News about the investigation said the victim’s father went to Ivy’s house and “beat the hell out of him.”

Coates would not confirm or deny if that is true.

District Attorney Alan Nash also declined to comment on the case.

“We are aware of the allegations against a former employee and we are cooperating with law enforcement in the matter,” said Bluff Dale ISD Superintendent John Taylor. “For the benefit of our students’ privacy, that’s all I can say right now.”

According to Bluff Dale Baptist Church’s Facebook page, Ivy was hired in August 2017 to serve as a youth pastor.
