Former USTRC building sells; set to become unique events center.

Updated: Nov 21, 2020

What was once home to Stephenville’s United States Team Roping Championships (USTRC) is set to become a unique events center dubbed Wagonville.

Troy Davis and Paulette Brendis purchased the building from Lani Rust with Clark Real Estate Group and now there are big plans for the facility, which sits on seven beautiful acres on County Road 437.

“Troy and Paulette were awesome to work with,” Lani told Beneath the Surface News. “I am so excited for this new venture and what it will bring to Stephenville. I’m truly blessed to have been a part of this process.”

Davis is a longtime resident of Morgan Mill and Brendis is a retired real estate agent who moved to Erath County from Idaho in May.

She is the force behind Wagonville.

“We are still in the process of renovating, but hope to officially open on November 1st,” she said.

But pinning Brendis down on exactly what Wagonville entails is virtually impossible because, well, there’s just a lot going on.

Here’s the short version: The hub of Wagonville includes 8,000 square feet of office and crafting space for rent. The facility will also be home to a farmers market, trade days, food trucks and holiday festivals.

In fact, the first event is planned for the weekend of Dec. 18 when Wagonville is set to host its grand opening.

“We will have Christmas pictures with Santa, trade days and food trucks,” Brendis said. “We are still working out the details.”

Families can also book birthday celebrations (packages are available).

“The birthday party room is ready to go and we have already booked several parties,” she said. “The room is attached to an arcade and also comes with a pinata, balloon drop and bounce house depending on what package you buy.”

Brendis said they also hope to book other events.

“I can see weddings happening here too,” she said. “It’s just a beautiful piece of property.”
