The COVID-19 pandemic has caused financial hardships across the country and Erath County families are no exception.

The Stephenville Independent School District is partnering with H.O.P.E. and the Tarrant County Food Bank to host a food pantry from 5-7 p.m. this evening at Chamberlin Elementary.

Anyone who needs a little assistance getting through these difficult times is encouraged to stop by.

You don’t have to make a reservation or have a student in the district to receive food.

Simply pull through the front entrance of the school and volunteers will load the groceries into your vehicle.

Jill Scott, HO.P.E.’s executive director, said tonight’s food will consist of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Last Saturday’s food pantry provided food for 238 local families.

The food pantry will be held every Thursday, rain or shine, through April.
