Erath County Sheriff’s Office investigate death of father and son killed in murder/suicide.
A man in his 50s reportedly upset that his father had cut him out of his will, shot and killed his own son on Dec. 14, then turned the gun on himself.
Erath County Sheriff Matt Coates said deputies were called to the scene about 10:30 p.m. after the victim’s grandfather discovered the bodies inside his home in Patillo.
Richard Calandrini Jr. had apparently been playing video games when his father walked into the room and shot him.
Coates would not give an official statement about the murder/suicide, saying the case is still under investigation.
He said the killing had to do with money and the grandfather’s will.
Autopsies on both men are pending.
