Theatre at Tarleton is hosting open auditions at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center 103 for roles in two upcoming productions, The Revenant and A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play.
Members of the Tarleton State University student body and staff, and residents of Stephenville and Erath County over the age of eight are invited to audition.
Materials for reading will be provided.
The Revenant, which opens Oct. 27, introduces two Victorian-era gentlemen who find themselves in a London park at night with no knowledge of who brought them there or why.
They accuse one another of their real intentions while also discussing a lady in their lives.
Rehearsals begin Sept. 19.
Rehearsals for the Nov. 29 opening of A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play begin Oct. 16.
Written by Philip Grecian, the familiar story is told as a radio drama onstage, complete with sound effects and music cues.
The play is staged with minimal costuming and a simple set. Each actor performs multiple parts and will read from scripts at three floor microphones downstage.
Sound effects and music are performed live.
