The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for portions of North Texas, including Erath County.
Rain is expected to begin Wednesday morning through Thursday evening with possibly severe thunderstorms dumping as much as two to five inches of rain across the area.
The NWS says flooding may occur in urban and poor drainage areas, creeks, streams and rivers.
Drivers should also pay attention when driving through low-water crossings, which may also become flooded.
Other counties in the flood watch include Bell, Bosque, Collin, Comanche, Cooke, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Ellis, Falls, Fannin, Freestone, Grayson, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Lampasas, Limestone, McLennan, Mills, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise. In northeast Texas, Delta, Henderson, Hopkins, Lamar, Rains and Van Zandt.
