Early voting in joint primary gets underway this week and Erath County residents have a lot to consider.



 

Voters in the Republican and Democrat Primary will get the chance to cast a ballot when early voting gets underway this week.

 

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, through Friday, Feb. 23, and 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, through Friday, March 1, at the new Erath County Annex, located at 222 East College Street, and Patrick Street Church of Christ in Dublin.

 

Extended early voting hours will be held from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25.

 

Voters will decide on party nominees in state and national races.

 

On the local level, voters will weigh in on the Republican nominee in the race for Erath County tax assessor, who will face Democrat Marycruz Serrano in November.



Republican candidates running for tax assessor include Tina Holzschuh, Valerie Stephen, Niki Cogburn and Mike Jones.

 

The race for Erath County commissioner place 3 will be decided in the Republican primary with candidates Ben Clements, Sherman Edwards and Justin Slawson looking to fill the spot currently held by longtime commissioner Joe Brown.

 

Election Day is Tuesday, March 5.



Polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the following locations:

• Texas Agrilife Research and Extension Center

 

• TexasBank, Stephenville location

 

• United Cooperative Services

 

• Patrick Street Church of Christ in Dublin

 


• Cross Timbers Church of Christ

 

• Lingleville Volunteer Fire Department

 

• Morgan Mill Community Center

 

• Selden Community Center

 

• Bluff Dale Community Center

 

• Huckabay Community Center

 

Erath County voters can vote at any of these locations on Election Day regardless of where they reside.
