Early voting gets underway this week. Here’s a look at Stephenville’s contested races.

Early voting in city elections begins on Monday.

 

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 20, through Friday, April 24, and Monday, April 27, and Tuesday, April 28, at the new Erath County Annex located at 222 E. College Street in Stephenville.

 

 

Polls will be closed on Tuesday, April 21.

 

There are two contested races on the Stephenville ballot – one for city council and one for Stephenville ISD board of trustees.

 

Incumbent Gerald Cook is facing a challenge from Jorge Moreno for place 2 on the Stephenville City Council.

 

 

Mark McClinton will fill the unexpired term of place 3, previously held by Mayor Lonn Reisman, and Nick Robinson will fill the unexpired term of place 7, held by Brandon Greenhaw.

 

Ricky Thurman will step into place 6, currently held by David Baskett.

Incumbents Dean Parr (place 4) and Alan Nix (place 8) were re-elected without opposition.


Jason Smith and Dr. Jill McAngus are vying to fill unexpired term of place 4 on the Stephenville ISD board of trustees following the resignation of Doug Young.



 Election Day is Saturday, May 2.

 

Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the new Erath County Annex, Dublin Annex, TexasBank in Stephenville and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Center.
