Last week’s Dancing For the Stars event raised a record-breaking $208,498.49 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erath County.
Randy and Renee Thompson took home the mirror ball trophy after raising a whopping $87,000 and getting a perfect dance score.
Jeremy and Hillary McBroom, Donny and Brigit Hill and Lance and Shelley Gilliland also competed in the event.
“Team Gilliland is the first couple who ever raised over $50,000 before the night of the event and that is a record-breaking situation for us,” executive director Sarah Weaver told Beneath the Surface News.
“They finished the night raising more than $70,000.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national mentoring program that pairs “Bigs” (adults) with “Littles” (kids) to build strong communities and help children reach their potential.
