City of Stephenville to host 3rd public meeting on comprehensive plan.

The City of Stephenville is holding its third public meeting to discuss the 2050 comprehensive plan.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the SISD administrative building.

Officials are updating the comprehensive plan, a document used by city leaders, developers, business owners and citizens to make decisions about how the community will grow and develop over the next 20 to 30 years.

The current comprehensive plan was adopted in 2008 and Stephenville has seen a lot of growth and change in that time.

During the first public meeting, current conditions were discussed and goals for the comprehensive plan were set by community members.

During the second public meeting, participants mapped where and how anticipated new population should be added to meet goals.

The goal of the third public meeting is to prioritize implementation steps for the comprehensive plan.

There will be a short presentation followed by an activity where participants will be tasked with choosing which strategies Stephenville should prioritize to implement the comprehensive plan.

Those unable to attend the meeting can access the presentation on the city’s website after the event.
