A new opportunity for women in the Dublin area is opening its doors this month as the Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) prepares to launch its next round of classes focused on life skills, job readiness and personal growth.

To kick things off, CWJC will host an open house from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at its location inside the CWJC Thrift Store, located at 106 N. Patrick Street in Dublin.

The event will give community members a chance to tour the facility, meet volunteers and instructors, and learn more about the program.

The 10-week program begins March 26 and will meet from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. every Thursday and Friday.

Participation is free, making it accessible for women who are looking to build skills, gain confidence and take next steps toward employment or education.

Classes offered in the program include:

• Life skills for communication and career success

• Finance and budgeting

• Sewing 101

• Bible study

Organizers say the program is designed to support women holistically - practically, professionally and spiritually.

“We want to help women take meaningful steps forward,” said Kevin Miles, strategic ministry director.

“This program is about equipping them with tools for everyday life, while also encouraging them in their personal journey.”

Participants who complete the program will receive more than just training.

Graduates are awarded a certificate of completion, sewing machine, laptop and reference letter to help them transition into the workforce or further opportunities.

Community members are encouraged to attend the open house to see firsthand how the program works and how it is making an impact locally.
