Stephenville’s historic Chandler Mansion has new owners.

Vance and Amy Wade closed on the property, located at 1083 W. Frey Street, last week and are now focused on renovations (which begin today)!

“We are going to restore the home and work on getting it a historical marker,” Amy told Beneath the Surface News. “We plan to live there, but also open up a part of the home for bridal and baby showers and other special events. We want the community to enjoy it.”

The home was originally built in 1919 by the Chandler family, but has sat vacant for the past several years.

“We are eager to bring new life into this massive structure while keeping its original charm,” Amy said.

The couple has spent months gathering information and interviewing professionals that will be crucial in its restoration, which is expected to take six to seven months.

“It has already proven to be the most exciting project we have taken on,” Vance said. “Everyone is eager to be a part of this enormous restoration.”

The more than 5,000 square foot mansion includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, several bonus rooms, five fireplaces and special features only seen in historic homes.

The public is invited to share stories and photos of The Chandler Mansion on Facebook.

“This beautiful mansion has a history that I will dust off, share and cherish,” Amy said. “The Chandler Mansion has a beautiful future.”
