Benefit team roping this weekend to help woman battling aggressive form of breast cancer.

Wisty Pruit

Wisty Pruit has some great friends.

While the 50-year-old battles an aggressive form of breast cancer, her friends have organized a benefit team roping this weekend aimed at helping her family.

“Jim and Wisty are both team ropers and they are well-known in the roping community,” Diana Jeffreys, one of the event organizers, told Beneath the Surface News. “She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.”

The Jim and Wisty Pruit Benefit Team Roping will be held at the new 377 Arena in Erath County on Sunday, July 17.

Books for the first of three ropings will open at 7:30 a.m. with the roping beginning at 9.

There will also be an amazing silent auction and chopped beef barbecue sandwiches for sale.

A benefit account has also been set up at Farmers & Merchants Bank in DeLeon.
