Benefit concert, dinner to raise money for Stephenville mother battling stage 3 metastatic melanoma.

In typical Stephenville fashion, community members are once again rallying around one of their own, this time for a woman battling stage 3 metastatic melanoma.
Melanie Conger was diagnosed with the disease in October 2022, and now friends are hosting a benefit concert to help the family cover the cost of rising medical expenses.
Event organizer Magan Estill said the benefit will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the gymnasium at Faith Lutheran Church.
The event will include free performances by local bands and artists and a chance to buy plates of delicious Mexican food.
“I will also be making my famous mac and cheese (for purchase) to take home,” Magan told Beneath the Surface News.
The Conger family is trying to raise $60,000 for treatment options.
A gofundme account in Melanie’s name has so far raised more than $19,000. You can donate here.
“Whether you're a long-time friend or someone who simply loves good music and supporting a great cause, we welcome you with open arms,” Magan said.
