Beneath the Book Club: It’s time to discuss September’s book, The Love of My Life.
The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh wasn’t the love story I was hoping to read in September, but I did enjoy the book.
The story is more mystery than romance, but it does center on what most people consider their one great love: A child.
Here’s the plot in a nutshell: Emma is a well-known marine biologist and Leo is an obituary writer. The couple share a young daughter, but almost everything Emma has told her family about herself is a lie.
Their life together begins to unravel when Leo begins peeling away the layers of her past, unveiling a twisty truth that takes readers on an interesting ride.
When Emma’s dark past comes to light, she must prove to her husband that she really is the woman he loves.
The shocker comes when the truth about Emma’s first true love is finally revealed.
There were a few parts of this book I had to speed read through (like the deep dives into marine biology), but overall, the storyline kept my attention.
This was the first book I have read by Rosie Walsh and I would definitely give another one a shot.
I give it an 8.
