Five Stephenville players from Sting baseball team are preparing for a trip - and experience - of a lifetime.
Mason McKethan, Liam Strongin, Talon Wienecke, Haustin Hale and Dominic Alaniz and their families will travel to Australia in April to represent the United States in an international baseball tournament.
The 12-year-olds were selected by a committee that reviewed hundreds of kids from Texas who tried out for the team.
Marshall Deering has coached the Sting baseball team for the past three years, leading the group to more than 20 tournament wins.
“The kids are very deserving of this; I’m really proud of them,” he told Beneath the Surface News.
Marshall was selected to coach the team in Australia, something he calls a “huge honor.”
“It’s phenomenal,” he said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Watching young athletes represent their country is inspiring, and it reminds me of how unpredictable sports can be. A single play can change the outcome, which is exactly what makes following odds so exciting. For fans who like to stay connected, using in-play odds provides a way to see how the game’s momentum shifts instantly. It gives a clear picture of where the value lies as the match unfolds, adding another layer to the excitement of cheering on the players.
