When cowboy and French cuisine collide: Tickets on sale for 5-course pop-up dinner at Newton’s.
Chef Mike Newton is busy these days…or should I say busier than usual?
One week before the new series of MasterChef is set to air – a season in which he is making a second appearance - the man affectionately known as the “cowboy chef” is partnering with French Chef Tony Bar for a pop-up dinner at Newton’s Cellar in downtown Stephenville.
The five-course dinner takes place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, and starts with arancini with arrabbiata sauce followed by spring mix Granny Smith salad with toasted goat cheese French bread, glazed black cod, crispy duck spring rolls with Asian barbecue sauce and dark chocolate and coffee cream meringue.
Sound delicious? Tickets can be purchased for $85 by clicking here.
The chefs first met several years ago when they appeared together on Supermarket Stakeout.
The two remained friends, and Chef Tony – who is between gigs – stopped in to help out at Newton’s Cellar for a few weeks.
The pop-up dinners are always a lot of fun and offer a super unique dining experience.
Seating is limited, so if you want a table, don’t wait to purchase tickets.
And don’t forget that season 12 of MasterChef premiers on Wednesday, May 25, on FOX.
Newton’s Cellar will, of course, host a watch party so stay tuned for details on that.
