We had our first taste of Insomnia Cookies this weekend and it’s worth the calories.

I tend to avoid going into bakeries. The temptation is just too great.

But when I was running short on time and ideas on what to bring to a Labor Day pool party, I stopped by Stephenville’s new Insomnia Cookies located at the bottom floor of The Edge apartments.

My friend Jen and I arrived at noon, an hour after it opened, and were greeted with a freshly baked batch.

That was bad news since neither of us had eaten lunch.

I ordered a dozen and a half of the classic mix, which included chocolate chunk, a few with M&M’s, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle and white chocolate macadamia.

Needless to say, the cookies were a hit and disappeared pretty quickly.

My favorite was the chocolate chunk, but the oatmeal raisin was a close second.

I’ll be heading back to Insomnia Cookies for my next splurge to try the ice cream. (Think creamy deliciousness with cookies pieces.)

You can also place an order for a jumbo-sized cookie with cute sayings like “Ur My Fave,” “Bite Me” and “Sorry Your Day Sucked.”

I can’t wait to give those as gifts!

I also hear there is some sort of controversy about parking and customers getting towed, but I can’t speak on that because I had zero problems and was in and out in a jiff.

The next time you need a sweet treat, you should give this cool cookie place a try!
