The Salvation Army’s iconic bell ringers are coming back. Here’s how you can volunteer.

The Salvation Army, an international Christian organization, is preparing to ring in the holiday season.

Literally.

The iconic Salvation Army Bell Ringing is set to begin on Dec. 5 at Stephenville Walmart and volunteers are needed.

Bell Ringing will be held from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Dec. 5, 12, 19 and 24.

Depending on the number of volunteers, the hours may be adjusted.

Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be provided for volunteers and wearing masks is highly encouraged.

The money collected during the bell ringing campaign remains local and there are no paid employees.

Funds from previous years have been used to provide gift cards to school nurses and social workers; purchase new shoes and backpacks for students in need; and supply turkeys and hams for holiday dinners to local families.

To sign up as a volunteer, contact Rosemary Nagle at 254-396-2960.
