The Henry in Dallas has transformed the upstairs bar into a winter wonderland and it is spectacular.

Updated: Dec 12, 2020

A recent trip to see our daughter in Dallas landed us back at one of our favorite spots, The Henry.

This stunning restaurant located in Uptown has a funky, elegant vibe and delicious food, but this time of year The Henry offers something else: An exquisite Christmas popup bar.

The upstairs bar with views of downtown Dallas has been transformed into a Christmas wonderland complete with festive cocktails like Nog on the Rooftop, Whiskey & Doughnuts, Junior & Mrs. Mint, Nuttier than a Fruitcake and a Fig and Ginger Mule to name a few.

I had the “Naughty List” Dirty Martini and it was outstanding.

There is also, of course, a great selection of wine, beer and bubbles.

The Henry’s Winter Wonderland only serves appetizers, but the menu includes its famous short rib potstickers served with toasted sesame, cilantro and ponzu. If you go, these are a must.

We also enjoyed an order of crab dip, which I also highly recommend.

The Christmas bar does take reservations for parties of four or more, but when the three of us arrived around 5 p.m. on a Friday, we had no trouble getting a great corner booth.

I imagine that will change as it gets closer to Christmas.

After those festive cocktails, head back downstairs for dinner because the food at The Henry is amazing.

My favorite dish is the seared ahi tuna with green curry rice, shiitake mushrooms, snap peas and fresh basil drizzled with a spicy coconut lemongrass broth.

There’s also a variety of unique salads and sandwiches and other mouthwatering main entrees like Scottish salmon, Bolognese and braised short ribs.

If you’re looking for a big dose of holiday fun, take a trip to Dallas and rendezvous at The Henry where there is no shortage of Christmas spirit!
