Students at HJH to pick up athletic equipment this week. Here’s what you need to know.

Another sign that a new school year is upon us is the announcement that Henderson Junior High School is handing out athletic equipment to its student-athletes on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
A meeting for parents of 7th graders will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria and 8th grade parents will meet at 7.
Equipment handout will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for 7th grade and 7:30-8:30 p.m. for 8th grade. Boys will meet in the small gym and girls will meet in the large gym after the parent meeting.
(Times are approximate pending participation and meeting length; 8th grade equipment will not be handed out until all 7th graders have received their equipment).
Here are a few other details you need to know:
All paperwork is due by for all SISD students.
7th grade: Cream colored medical history/physical form (both sides completed), shot records and any health packets due to the nurse for allergies and medications.
8th grade: If new to the district - copy of physical from previous school or cream-colored medical history/physical form, shot records and any health packets due to the nurse.
A physical is not required for SISD students entering 8th grade unless athlete sustained a major injury during 7th grade.
7th and 8th grade athletes will receive one shirt and a pair of shorts. Additional shirts and shorts may be purchased.
The Athletic Booster Club will be selling bags, shirts and Honeybee/Yellow Jacket attire at equipment handout night (cash, checks, credit cards accepted).
If you are unable to pick your equipment up on Tuesday, additional dates will be emailed to you on when you can pick them up. You may also have someone pick it up for you if you are unable to attend.
All athletes must be registered and have all paperwork turned in before Wednesday, Aug. 17, to be able to participate.
Don’t wait to get your physical after school starts.
The first volleyball practice will be on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
The first 8th grade football practice will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, and 7th grade on Thursday, Aug. 18.
