Students at Gilbert Intermediate raise $600 for Shop with a Cop.

Gilbert Intermediate students in Mrs. Stanfield’s student council class raised $600 for “Shop with a Cop.”

The students presented local law enforcement agencies with the check on Thursday.

The agencies are working together to raise money for the second annual “Shop with a Cop” program, aimed at giving local at-risk youth a merry Christmas.

The fun will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 21, when kids are treated to breakfast with a cop, then taken to Walmart (with lights and siren) to pick out clothes, shoes and a special toy.
