Second case of COVID-19 confirmed in Erath County

Erath County officials confirmed its second positive case of COVID-19 on Saturday night.

The city and county both issued statements indicating that the patient is a Stephenville woman in her 20s who is now quarantined at her home.

The test was administered at Stephenville Medical & Surgical Clinic, which has reportedly tested about 100 patients for the virus.

"Our Emergency Management Team is monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We are in touch daily with the Texas State Department of Health Services as well Dr. (Kelly) Doggett, Texas Health Resources, Stephenville Medical & Surgical Clinic and SurePoint Emergency," said City Manager Allen Barnes. "The three facilities are the facilities providing testing services for COVID in Stephenville.

"We will continue to update our residents to any changes in the COVID-19."

A Stephenville man became the first person in Erath County to test positive for coronavirus earlier this week.
