Risk of COVID-19 in Erath County remains ‘very high’ as number of new cases dip slightly.

The spread of COVID-19 in Erath County seems to have improved slightly with the risk level going from “extremely high” last week to “very high” this week, according to Covid ACTNOW.

The website, which tracks COVID-19 cases across the country, stated on Monday that there was an average of 23 new cases last week, down from 35 the week prior.

The number of local hospitalizations, however, has risen to 17 with three patients in ICU.

The website also states that 41.4% of the public has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
