I love using the slow cooker.

 

I like the way it makes the house smell and the cozy feels it brings.

 

This recipe for slow cooker steak bites is from Persnickety Plates and it’s absolutely delish.

 


Flavorful, tender, fall-apart steak best served over noodles or mashed potatoes will make you happy for a night at home.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

3 pounds sirloin steak cut into bite-sized pieces

 

2 teaspoons kosher salt

 

1 teaspoon black pepper

 

2 tablespoons olive oil

 


1 small sweet onion thinly sliced

 

3 cloves garlic thinly sliced

 

1 cup unsalted beef stock or broth

 

1 packet au jus gravy mix 

 

4 tablespoons unsalted butter thinly sliced

 

fresh chopped parsley for garnish optional



HOW YOU MAKE IT

 

Place steak into large bowl and salt and pepper.

 

Heat skillet hot over medium-high heat and add half of the oil; sear steak bites and place in slow cooker along with onion and garlic.

 


Pour in beef stock, sprinkle the au jus packet over the top and add butter.

 

Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours; stirring every 30 minutes.

 

Garnish with fresh parsley.
