Procession to escort the body of slain firefighter back to Dublin on Friday.
Members of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department and Erath County Volunteer Fire Rescue will escort the body of Jesse Rollins back to Dublin on Friday morning.
Rollins was a member of the Dublin VFD and former U.S. Marine when he was shot and killed on Friday, Feb. 10. The alleged shooter, Marcus Anderson, has not been charged in the incident.
Jesse Rollins brother, Ray Rollins, was also shot and is expected to recover from his injuries.
ECVFR coordinator Chris Brooks said Friday’s procession will leave Benbrook between 9:30-10 a.m. on Hwy. 377, then travel through Cresson, Granbury and Stephenville.
Once it arrives in Dublin, the procession will move through the light at Patrick and Blackjack, turn left on Elm Street, left on South Grafton, right on Blackjack and left on Camden to arrive at Harrell Funeral Home.
The public is encouraged to line the path as a show of support for Rollins’ family.
Jesse Rollins leaves behind a wife and two children.
A benefit fund to help the family has been set up at First National Bank of Dublin.
