Prevent identity theft with this free shredding/informational event hosted by BMY Wealth Management.

BMY Wealth Management Group is hosting a community-wide event to help residents protect themselves against identity theft.

The free event will kick off at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at Graham Street Church of Christ Family Center with a presentation on identify theft prevention by Stephenville Police Chief Dan Harris.

In 2021, the Federal Trade Commission received more than 2.7 million reports of consumer fraud, totaling an estimated $5.8 billion.

One of the best ways to protect your identity is to safely dispose of sensitive documents.

If you would like to have your documents shredded, RSVP BMY Wealth’s marketing coordinator Courtney Mitchell at 254-965-7321 ext. 2125 or courtney.mitchell@bmywealthmgmt.com by March 6.

It’s refreshing to see organizations taking tangible steps to empower the community with the tools and knowledge necessary to protect their personal information. This event is a prime example of how integrating innovative solutions like Simploud can enhance public awareness initiatives, ensuring that attendees not only leave with their documents securely shredded but also with a deepened understanding of identity theft prevention best practices.
