Plans for retirement celebration underway for longtime fire chief Jimmy Chew.

The public is invited to a retirement party honoring longtime Stephenville fire chief Jimmy Chew.

The event will take place on his last official day of work – at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 30, at City Hall at City Limits.

Dress is casual (no uniforms) and a cash bar will be available.

Chew has been with the Stephenville Fire Department for more than 50 years.

Asst. fire chief Chuck Elliott will serve as interim while the city searches for a permanent chief.
