Opinion: Former Stephenville mayor endorses David Baskett.

I want to thank all of my friends in Stephenville who have sent texts, emails and messages of concern for my health.
I’m doing better, thank you. God is good!

I’ve always tried to listen when God speaks, and last February, he spoke loud and clear.
Recently, I’ve received several questions from friends on who they should vote for in the race for mayor, so I thought I would give my input.
Over the past 14 years serving as a council member and serving as mayor for seven years, I believe I’ve gathered quite a bit of experience and knowledge about what it takes to make a good mayor.
I know both candidates and consider both friends; they are very good men.
I have served with both men on the council during their tenure.
A little bit of insight into the management of the council; the mayor makes recommendations for committee membership and chairmanships.
On two separate occasions, I asked David Baskett to serve as chair of a committee that he was not comfortable with.
Both times his answer was, “Mayor do what you think is best for the city,” and I did.
I made him the chair of the Development Committee and Finance Committee.
In both situations, he did a wonderful job of learning his role and working with staff to improve the city of Stephenville.
Those are two of the most engaged committees on the council.
David is currently serving as mayor pro tem in my absence and is doing a fine job.
Having been on council for 14 years, I found that being a businessman has been crucial in leading the city.
When I was first elected, I emphasized that we should operate the city as a business.
One of the main reasons I’m supporting David is his knowledge of business. He knows how to ask the tough questions.
David is the owner of Baskett Mortgage Services and Cruising Care.
He’s had to make payroll out of his own pocket, which is a significant advantage in serving in the role as mayor.
Again, both candidates are my friends. This letter was tough to write, but it comes from the heart.
Sincerely,
Doug Svien

This opinion piece was clearly argued and easy to follow. The reasoning was https://www.coversinplay.com/pool-enclosures/ presented in a balanced way. I came across a -based review blog with similar local political commentary.
Thanks for breaking down the options for unlimited data bundles so clearly. It’s really useful to see everything compared in one place. I came across a consumer-focused comparison on https://www.cygnetliving.com recently that offered a similarly straightforward perspective.
What I really like about this ai video to video solution is the "object erase" feature combined with the style transfer. I can remove a distracting person from the background and then transform the whole clip into a sketch style. It turns a messy, unusable video into a clean piece of art in just a few minutes.
