Number of new COVID cases continues to decline, but Erath County’s risk level remains 'very high.'



The spread of COVID-19 in Erath County continues to show improvement, but the risk level remains “very high,” according to Covid ACTNOW.


The website, which tracks COVID-19 cases across the country, reported on Tuesday that there was an average of 20 new cases last week, down from 23 the week prior.

The number of local hospitalizations has also gone down to nine patients and one in ICU.


The website also states that 42.5% of the public has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

“In Erath County, Texas, 18,136 people (42.5%) have received at least one dose, 15,821 (37.1%) have received at least two doses or a single Johnson & Johnson dose, and 5,380 (12.6%) have received a booster shot,” the website states.
