It’s crowded at the Erath County Humane Society with 63 dogs and 33 cats in desperate need of a permanent home.

And now I’m introducing you to two of them.

Cabbage is a three-year-old Chihuahua mix.

Vera

“She is a little shy at first, but is sweet and lovable when she warms up,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright said. “She is microchipped and we are taking applications on her.”

Vera is a one-year-old tabby that Wright describes as “super playful.”

And doesn’t she look it? Vera is so cute I can hardly stand it.

If you need a kitten in your life, head to the animal shelter at 891 East Road in Stephenville and scoop her up.
