Let the soup making commence! This pumpkin-shaped Dutch oven has my kitchen ready for fall.
It’s out with the old and in with the new at the Vanden Berge casa.
For us (as in me), Sept. 1 marks the beginning of fall. (The official first day is actually Sept. 23.)
All things summer are being packed away, replaced with candles that smell like pumpkin and apple tarts.
I mean, I only have about eight weeks to enjoy fall, which officially ends in my life on Oct. 31 to make room for Christmas, which begins on Nov. 1 (and not a day later).
Stop rolling your eyes. I can’t help it.
So imagine the joy I felt when my new fall-themed, soup-making pot arrived on my front porch this week.
Thanks Amazon!
I’d been eyeballing this pretty pumpkin Staub Dutch oven for a while, and finally broke down and bought it. (It also comes in orange.)
It looks beautiful in my newly-renovated kitchen where I plan to make lots of soup this season.
Staub produces some amazing cookware; heavy, gorgeous and built to last for years.
This Dutch oven was a little pricey, but I believe I’ll get my money’s worth.
In other words, The Husband is going to be eating a lot of chili and soup this season.
The first thing I plan to make is a batch of Italian butternut squash soup.
I’ll let you know how it turns out!
