Lawmen: Bass Reeves, the movie partially filmed in Stephenville, gets premier date, official teaser.
Get the popcorn ready.
The premier of Lawmen: Bass Reeves is no longer a mystery.
Paramount+ has announced that the new series will begin streaming on Nov. 5.
You can watch the official trailer here.
As you’ll recall, a portion of Bass Reeves was filmed in downtown Stephenville in May with several residents like Lori Bramlett Mayfield and Dr. Dwayne Shaffer scoring parts as extras.
The official description states that it “follows the journey of Reeves (David Oyelowo) and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi.
"Despite arresting over 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family.”
The new series also stars Dennis Quaid. It was created by Chad Feehan and executive produced by Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan.
I can hardly wait to watch it!
