French meets Southern fare: Newton’s Saddlerack hosting 4-course dining experience with optional wine pairings by Caymus Vineyards.
If you have been looking for a special night out, Newton’s Saddlerack in downtown Stephenville is hosting an event at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
Cowboy Chef Mike Newton will have a little help in his kitchen from Chef Shayne the Train Wells from MasterChef Jr and MasterChef season 12, Chef Gabriel Lewis from MasterChef seasons 8 and 12 and Chef Anthony Bar from Vanderpump Villa.
The 4 course dinner will combine French and Southern cooking with dishes like shrimp and grits served with a creamy French béarnaise sauce; piquant melon gazpacho with chèvre cheese foam and barbecue duck à l'orange with French-style lyonnaise potatoes.
Dessert will be a Southern twist on the traditional French clafoutis, using fresh Texas peaches instead of cherries.
The optional wine pairings by Caymus Vineyards are an additional $30.
