Following the Whole30 diet? This burger-in-a-bowl is for you. And it’s totally delish!

I’m continuing my series on recipes that follow popular diet plans, and if you’re following Whole30, this recipe for a burger-in-a-bowl is for you!

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

 

1 lb. lean ground beef

 

4 tsp garlic powder

 

½ tsp salt

 

1 tsp avocado oil



SPECIAL SAUCE

 

½ cup mayo

 

2 tbsp ketchup

 

2 tsp maple syrup or coconut aminos 

 

1 tbsp dill relish

 

2 tsp minced onion

 

1 pinch red pepper flakes

 

1 pinch salt

 


TOPPINGS

 

1 cup thinly sliced red onion

 

2 small heads romaine lettuce

 

1 ½ cup cherry tomatoes

 

½ cup pickle chips

 

8-10 slices thick cut bacon

 

Avocado

 


BUILD YOUR BOWL

 

Brown ground beef and season with garlic powder and salt.

 

Combine all ingredients for sauce.  

 

Build bowls starting with lettuce and finishing with a drizzle of special sauce. 

 

If not practicing Whole30, cheddar cheese can be added. 

 

I also love to use yellow mustard for a punch of traditional burger flavor and serve with a side of garlic fries.
