The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for much of North Texas, including Erath County.
Heavy snow and mixed precipitation are expected from late Wednesday through Friday afternoon with three to six inches of snow and one-tenth of an inch of ice possible.
“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous making travel difficult to impossible,” the advisory states.
“The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.”
Wintry precipitation will start early Thursday morning and increase in intensity and coverage throughout the day.
Make sure to protect your pets, pipes and plants, then settle in for a blast of winter.
Other affected counties include Comanche, Eastland, Hood, Palo Pinto, Tarrant and Somervell.
