Erath County Patrol Sgt. Cody Shawver named December’s Hometown Hero.

Patrol Sgt. Cody Shawver with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office is a husband (wife Carrie), father and 2012 graduate of Stephenville High School.

Now he has earned another title: Erath County Hometown Hero for the month of December.

Shawver was given the honor by Farmers Insurance agent Leslie Walker who sponsors the monthly program.

After accepting the award, Shawver said, “I am blessed to live in Erath County and to raise my family here. I go out every day and try to do my best to keep Erath County a safe and wonderful place to live.”

Shawver graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at Weatherford College and has worked for the sheriff’s office for the past eight years.
