Erath County officials report 14 new cases of COVID, 2 new hospitalizations.

It appears that Stephenville’s health authority Dr. Kelly Doggett was correct two weeks ago when he said the spread of COVID is not over.

After what seemed to be a drop or leveling off of new local cases, there has been a small surge in the latest numbers reported by Erath County officials.

On Thursday, emergency management coordinator Susan Driskill reported 14 new cases; six in Stephenville, one in Dublin and seven in the county, bringing the total to 836 with 111 still considered active.

Two new hospitalizations were also reported, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 25.
