Egg roll bowl: Flavorful and healthy dish the entire family will love.



If you enjoy the flavors found in Chinese food – particularly egg rolls – you will love this recipe for the egg roll bowl.


It has less fat, less carbs and all the flavor you crave. And here’s another bonus: it’s easy to make.

WHAT YOU NEED


1 ½ pounds ground turkey


1 large onion, diced


1 tablespoon minced garlic


2 tablespoons sesame oil


½ cup carrots, peeled and finely shredded

16-ounce bag of coleslaw mix or broccoli slaw


½ teaspoon onion powder


½ teaspoon garlic powder


½ teaspoon red pepper flakes


1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger


½ to ¾ cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil


Green onions for garnish


HOW TO MAKE IT


Brown ground turkey in skillet with olive oil. (You can substitute ground chicken or lean ground beef.)

Add yellow onion, garlic and sesame oil; cook until onion is tender.


Add slaw and cook on medium heat for 5-10 minutes.


In small bowl, I like to mix soy, grated ginger, sriracha (optional) and a stevia packet.


Stir into skillet until thoroughly coated with sauce. Garnish with green onion.
