County officials confirm another death linked to COVID-19 as 8 more test positive.
The numbers keep coming and another local death has been blamed on COVID-19.
County health authority Dr. Moore said a man in his 70s who had been hospitalized in Fort Worth has passed away from the virus.
No other details are available according to a statement from county officials.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to this man’s family and friends,” the statement said. “This death serves as an unfortunate reminder about the seriousness of our situation, as cases have been increasing
dramatically.
“Our most vulnerable citizens, including the elderly and those with chronic health conditions, are especially at risk. We must continue to commit ourselves to fighting the spread of this virus and take seriously our responsibility to protect our loved ones and neighbors from this disease.”
There have now been now 431 total cases in Erath County with 65 still active.
