Congratulations to city secretary Staci King who received the Achievement of Excellence Award.
The Texas Municipal Clerks Association presented its Achievement of Excellence Award to Stephenville City Secretary Staci King.
Through King’s office, the City of Stephenville met the requirements to receive the Achievement of Excellence Award.
“On behalf of the city council, we are very proud of Staci and her accomplishments,” said Mayor Doug Svien. “She continues to make many valuable contributions to our city government.”
The prestigious award program recognizes statutory requirements and demands for effective and efficient management of resources for proper governance by the municipal clerk’s office.
The award identifies municipal clerk offices throughout the state for compliance with federal, state, and local statutes that govern standards necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the office.
A municipal clerk must have met as least nine of the 12 standards to be eligible for the Excellence Award.
The 12 standards include compliance and excellence in records management, the Texas Open Meetings Act, government transparency, professional development, awards and recognitions, management of citizen boards and commissions, Municipal Clerk office policies and procedures, elections administration, the Texas Public Information Act, innovation and streamlining projects, the establishment of departmental training, and other areas of responsibility.
