Church to host fundraiser for animal shelter; residents invited to bring pets for special blessing.
The Erath County Humane Society routinely functions with more animals than space. Money is often tight and executive director Serena Wright and her team of volunteers work long hours every day to ensure that the dozens of homeless animals are well taken care of.
The church is hosting its annual “Blessing of the Animals” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in the lawn where residents are invited to bring their pets for a special blessing.
Residents are also invited to donate items like bleach, laundry soap, fabric softener, clumping kitty litter, cat and dog food, and of course, money for the animal shelter.
