Anyone watching their weight knows the pain of having to pass up on a slice or two of their favorite pizza.
But this healthy recipe for chicken crust pizza takes the guilt right out of that splurge meal.
Go ahead, give it a try. You will be glad you did!
WHAT’S IN IT
½ lb. ground chicken
1 egg
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
½ tsp Italian seasoning
Cooking spray
½ cup no sugar added tomato sauce (such as Rao’s)
½ reduced-fat shredded Mozzarella cheese
2 Roma tomatoes sliced
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
HOW TO MAKE IT
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine the first four ingredients in medium sized bowl. Form the chicken mixture into a thin circular crust shape onto a parchment-lined lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Top with sauce, cheese and tomato slices and bake until cheese is melted, about 7-10 minutes.
Sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.
Serves 2.
