Chicken crust pizza done the healthy way. (Consider this your weekend treat)

Weekends are for pizza.


And if you want to stay on track with your diet, this recipe for chicken crust pizza should be on your menu.

It's easy to make and and absolutely delicious!

WHAT’S IN IT


½ lb. ground chicken


1 egg

2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese


½ tsp Italian seasoning


Cooking spray


½ cup no sugar added tomato sauce (such as Rao’s)

½ reduced-fat shredded mozzarella cheese


2 Roma tomatoes sliced


¼ cup chopped fresh basil

HOW TO MAKE IT


Preheat oven to 400 degrees.


Combine first four ingredients in medium-sized bowl, then form chicken mixture into a thin circular crust and place on parchment-lined lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes.


Top with sauce, cheese and tomato slices and bake until cheese is melted, about 7-10 minutes.


Top with fresh basil before serving.


Serves two.
