Butterflies, bluebirds, reptiles and fishing; it's all coming to Nature Fest Oct. 7.

Round up the family and plan for a day of fun when the Prairie Oaks Master Naturalist Chapter hosts its annual Nature Fest from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Bosque River Trail Nature Center, located at 735 East Long Street in Stephenville.

The free event will include informational booths about reptiles, bluebirds, fishing, butterflies, pottery, painting, groundwater, rain, telescopes and microscopes.


There will also be crafts and games about trees, animal tracts and insects, a nature walk and activities for children and adults.

A few of the participating organizations include Tarleton Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society, Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, Fort Worth Nature Center, Lake Mineral Wells State Park, Lake Brownwood State Park, Muse WMA, Ranger College and the Texas Bluebird Society.
